Happy 5 months old Coal!...or where did May go?

Given we (Coal, Trish, and me) will be out in the field over Coal's 5-month birthday, we're updating the blog a little early...

Happy co-pilot Coal.

Coal is now 15 lbs! He's getting much stronger, more aware, and almost sitting up on his own. He is a very smiley little guy (most of the time) and with the right facial expressions and sounds, you can get a real rise out of him (uncontrollable belly-laughs). He loves grabbing his feet and pulling them up to his mouth, reaching out and touching/knocking-over objects, and is becoming increasingly more interested in big people & their food (we haven't introduced any solids yet, but may soon!). He also seems to be very clear about who he 'knows' and doesn't know...and seems more comfortable with those he's most familiar (big surprise!)

How the @#$%! does this headset work?! Coal.

Memorial Day Weekend we attended the Gall-Rizzolo wedding at Chena Hot Springs, outside Fairbanks. We flew up in the cub, during which Coal got to try out his new headset (He loved it!...Thanks Jen!). When did little-man get so big?

Brook's boy-toy Coal.
Brook picked us up from the airport & put us up for the night in her sweet (& spacious) new cabin. Hurray auntie Brook!

Headline: Delated onset of first reproduction among field biologists results in sudden population explosion! There were a ton of babies at this wedding! Lots of up and coming playmates for C-man.
