Grandpa Roger & The New Airplane (April 2010)

Slowly getting caught up with photos/posts...it's been a busy few months.
In late April, Grandpa Roger drove his old (our new) Prius up to Alaska from Iowa; taking the ferry from Prince Rupert to Whittier. Roger stayed for a couple weeks, helping us with the new airplane and enjoying Coal. Great to have Rog up for a while.
Right off the bat, grandpa Roger figured out one of Coal's favorite activities. It just doesn't get any better than driving the truck at the airport....followed by some library time
On April 28, Paul hauled the new cub over to strip and took it up for it's first flight. Strong winds that night, allowed for an impressive short-field take-off.Everything went smoothly on her maiden voyage and the crew was happy. Then came the re-weighing and last-minute details before final inspection....and the measuring (we determined Coal's still shorter than the 31" bush wheels).
Now (June) the plane is fully operational and has been out making regular fishing runs.
Fun to see 3 generations of Flint men together
Great to see you Rog!
